What is non-celiac wheat sensitivity?

There are individuals who experience various health problems from foods containing wheat, even though celiac disease has been ruled out. These people may suffer from non-celiac wheat/gluten sensitivity – NCWS.

When should I get tested?

Clinically, NCWS may resemble celiac disease, causing problems in the digestive system (typically diarrhea, constipation, nausea, bloated feeling) as well as outside it (rashes, fatigue, ...).

What will the examination tell us?

The examination package includes a basophil activation test with gluten and wheat flour to rule out early hypersensitivity to gluten, and a lymphocyte blast activation test to detect possible delayed hypersensitivity to gluten.

What is the treatment?

Following a gluten-free diet.

Interpretation of results by physician
